Got the Dart sold. Now to refocus on my Bee. Started more metal repair yesterday. I think this was the last of the major metal repair. Who am I joking!

Lesson learned with putting on skim coat. Go as thin as you possibly can. Block sanding sucks! However the results are nice. Another lesson learned....don’t try to mix up a lot of skim coat at one time or maybe just reduce the amount of hardener because that Stuff gelled up FAST!!!

Been getting a lot of work done recently. Finally got the doors primed as well as 90% of the car. Had to wait on the roof since I just put rust converter on it a few hours earlier.

Progress!!

How many days has your vinyl top been laying on the car? I am curious how long it takes to get all the folds out of it. Mine has been folded up in the box for about 6 years now. Just trying to plan ahead.

Just read the whole thread. Great job and looking good!

You mentioned work on cowl. What did you do? Any pics of that?

I know you’re in CA, where did the car come from?

Same here. Nice work!

What spot welder did you buy/use?

Looking good. One of these days you guys are going to have to teach me how y'all tighten painted bolts without destroying the paint.
Somebody posted recently about how to do that. Something about wrapping the socket with cellophane or something like that.

I don’t remember the exact brand. I can look when I get home. It was only like $129. It works well. I had to replace the tips a couple times because of so many spot welds.

Hello, thanks for reading through my thread. I had to replace the upper Cowell yes. I ordered an upper Cowell panel from AMD. I’ll look for pictures. The car actually came from the East Coast. I believe it was in North Carolina originally. I have a lot of the original documentation/insurance cards/registration. A guy bought it from there out of a barn and was going to restore it as a retirement project but changed his mind. I purchased it about six years ago and had it shipped from the East Coast over to California
