So which is it??

Yes. Those are the numbers I have for 1966, 361,4 speed coronet 500 convert. They might not be 100% accurate, but they should be close. It was not a common combination. The were a few more 383 4 speed in that body.
In 1967 (early) I bought a Dodge Charger (66). 318 Poly. They also had a Charger (67) with 361 and 4 speed. I couldn't afford it. I'm just wondering how many 67 Chargers had a 361 and 4 speed. Also in dec of 66, I was at a Plymouth dealer who had a left over 66 Belvedere 2 with a street Hemi. They wanted I think $2900.00. It was a bench seat column shifted 727. I couldn't afford it!

It is my understanding that there were no 67 B bodies with a 361. A 66 charger with a 361 4 speed numbered at 468 units for U.S. consumption, according to my info.

You are most likely correct. It has been a long time since I was 21 ! I only saw the 361 Charger for a couple of minutes. Thanks for the info and the quick reply!

I wouldn't use the term "common" but more than a few times I've seen a 66 shell used to make a 67 GTX clone.

well it is almost a complete gtx clone. just needs the 440 motor, front disc brakes, the hood scoops, factory tach mounted on center console and I'm probably missing a few things

According to the blurry list above, there were 3,493 1966 coronet 440 convertibles made. The engine breakdowns are also listed.

'67 GTX came standard with 11"X 3" drum brakes all the way around. Also front sway bar.

That's REAL common in racing- re-skinning even.

IIRC the 1971-74 cars were re-skinned all they way to 1979 models.
