71 v 72 Rallye hoods - is there a difference

Yep.

Needed jogged.

(or grabbed and shaken)

See what I did there, using Mopar sport hood terminology.....

The AMD Ramcharger hood is a very nice piece. It fits well too.

Note, I'm aware this wasn't the question but I will mention anyway. There is (what I consider to be) a huge difference in 71-2 vs 73-4 hoods. It has to do with the lip near the front. It is longer on the early hoods and will not allow you to close properly with the 73-4 bumper bracket in place. My 71 Superbee hood had to be modified so it would work on my 73. See pic

Yeap, that's because the fender to bumper bracket difference as far I recall, which on 73/74 is wider making to disturb to that area of the hood.

Not questioning you, more like asking because I don't know. Someone told me 72, you are saying 73, so can you give me a run down of the various hoods? I was told that 71 did not have a plain bulge hood; only the RT louvered insert and the Air Grabber but in 72 you could have just the bulge. I know that the vents across the back are indicative of the year and there were split vents like I have and then there was full vents.

Post 2 and 10 of this thread explain the differences.

71 has full louvers and a cutout for an insert, Some late 71's have the small 72 gap. 72 has a small gap in the center of the louvers. 73 has a wide gap like your hood. 74 has no louvers at all.

See post 10. Pictures provided show the different years/vents.
I had two 73 rallye cars and that is the hood both cars had.

Edit... Looks like T2R9 and I were typing at the same time.
