Tried my wipers today, ran 4 times and stopped in the center of the windshield, turned them off and after a few moments they went to park. Turned them on again and they ran about 5 times and stopped again, turned them off and after a few moments they went to park again. The most they ran was 10 times before stopping. The car has sat quite a few years and may just be corrosion but ya never know. Wiper pivot seal is leaking on the driver side so they will need changed too. Any ideas on the wipers ??

Grease in pivots dried up?

They seemed to work fine when the worked...they just worked when they wanted to.....windshield was wet when I started.

Mine are kinda goofy on the GTX too. Years of not being used, I'd say - but the problem
with intermittent operation/problems parking, at least with mine, lies in dirty contacts in
the switch itself.
If I play with it some, it works better after a bit.

I ordered a seal kit so that will solve the leakage problem and I will pull the switch and clean it as much as possible and see it that solves the problem.

They'll work better on a wet windshield !!

When buying this car mine where froze solid. Tried blaster on them but still did not loosen them up. So soaked them in Vinegar and water solution for a day one started to loosen some so soaked them some more. After two days the one was moving well and put blaster one it and worked it almost every day. The other one took almost a week for it to start to turn. Finely got it turning and put blaster on it and you should see all the trash that came out of them. Last put white grease the type in a spray can and worked them good for a few day. Now the both turn freely.

Check the ground to the wiper motor....very important
