Carburetor coating?

I took the low budget route and used the Gunk carb cleaner in a gallon can. Let the parts and body soak for days. Removed them now and then and scrubbed with stiff bristle brushes. After assembly I used a high heat gold paint for the linkages and VHT high heat clear on the whole carb. Still looks good after two years.

Surprisingly, it didn't cost much neither. Blasting was $50 and to cad plate all the steel shafts, linkages, screws etc plus lots of other engine bits was $80.
