1968 Charger w/ 6.1L, 6 speed, and RMS AlterKtion/4 link

Sucks having to crash your 69 in order to save your life... probably lucky you weren't driving one of todays beer cans that turns into a cannoli when they hit something.
Did the Charger die or is it on life support?

Well, a year later its making some progress...new AMD quarter panels, dutchman's panel tail light panel, rear crossmember, rear valance, one piece trunk floor, and trunk floor extensions.

The RMS 4 link bar has been welded in. The Ford 9" rearend will be narrowed to fit my wheels and tires.

Also, I changed direction on the transmission. I had a TR6060 laying around in my shop from when I parted out a late model Challenger SRT8 so I'm going to use it. So the tunnel had to be enlarged...

What a compelling story you've chosen to share with us here and I'm sorry I haven't discovered
it until now. FBBO is that way - it's such a vast site that it's hard to keep up unless one spends
a LOT of time on here.
As a 4x survivor myself, I see a lot of parallels in our stories, too - they discovered the one that
dang near killed me also quite by accident (kidney) while doing some routine scans, too.
My doc sensed something was wrong (even though I felt fine) and sent me off for scans...
and all hell let loose from there.

Anyways, much like you are doing here (and WOW you got skills I envy - I've never even tried to
do metal work, nothing like you're doing here!) I had the GTX project going on when the shiyat hit
the fan - and I used working on the car as therapy to get me though the rough stuff.
I'm sorry you and your family have had to endure all the hardship but very happy to see you back
at it!
Looking forward to seeing future updates and to ultimately, the day you crank her up and drive her!

Why a 9 inch?

Bro, I just read your story. Glad the the Dr's found the Cancer. You have a beautiful family. And Awesome Cars. Stay healthy.

Glad to hear you caught that when you did especially having those cute little ones to look forward too.

Love the direction this build is going in and the work going into it, great job so far. You won't regret the decision to go with the 6 speed, there's the reliability and then there's the fun factor lol. I only drove mine one year with the auto before switching to the Viper trans, instantly doubled the miles I drove it and opened it up to long relaxing hauls.

Keep up the good work.

Why a 9 inch?
Because I parted out a wrecked 1970 Challenger restomod that I bought from IAAI. When it arrived, the rearend was a BRAND NEW Moser 9" with 4.10 gears and Baer 6S disc brakes on all 4 corners. I was expecting an 8.75 but got a nice rearend with sweet brakes. It's pretty much free.

Can’t argue with that, I’d done the same!

Are you relocating it under the dash or deleting completely?

Firewall is in place...also the 6.4L BGE Hemi and the TR6060 were mated and installed for mockup of the transmission crossmember.
A front lower radiator support was built since I'm not a fan of some of the other aftermarket offerings. It's got a pocket on the passenger side to account for the vintage air conditioning condenser/hard lines.

Since the TR6060 has a fixed flange (not a slip yoke) I ordered a Magnum conversion kit. This makes the transmission crossmember much easier. Transmission crossmember is in place

I love trans cross member!

What an inspiring story! Praying for you and your family. Keep up the great work.
