I did it to my GTX and always loved the look. The only difference was I kept the hood with the original orgasal paint. I didn’t paint it body color. I guess kind of a tribute look. Looks great on the bee or GTX in my opinion.

Had one on my charger and loved it.

I like the look but wouldn’t trade an air grabber for it.

I would not get rid of the air grabber hood, thats a keeper.

I meant if I had both I’d use the air grabber hood.
Of course, if you were to sell the air grabber hood I’d be willing to buy it from you.

If that’s the case, then why not! Rock the second hood and try it out, if you decide you don’t like it then go back to the original. Personally I like the air grabber, but if you want the big scoop and have it as a second hood, the go for it!

PS: By the way, your car is a beaut just the way it is!!!

when my body guy told me I needed a new hood, it was a no brainer.

I have one on my convertible Charger because I sold my A12 Superbee, and I missed looking at the scoop through the windshield. Just get another hood, and keep the painted one in a safe place. You can always swap it back on if you want to.

Do you have any pictures of that car from different angles?

I bought a N96 hood from AMD because I think the 70 style Air Grabber is THE best looking fresh air intake of the entire muscle car era bar none.
Now I'm faced with having to have about 4" more height to clear my Weiand 6bbl intake.
I was going to install the Air Grabber in a flat top cowl hood, but I know that too many people would see that cowl, regardless of the menacing Air Grabber scoop. So the latest idea is to have the power bulge in my N96 hood raised to maintain that look, that shape as much as possible. Eventually I'll get with my talented paint and body guy and see what he can do.
My other choice is the 6 pack A12 style scoop. I LIKE them!

The car looks fairly stock, so are you going to modify it to utilize the big scoop, or you just want to make it look like its fast? Unless you plan to back up the scoop look with power modifications, I'd suggest leaving it alone.

As long as you keep your beautiful original hood so it can be put on when you want, do whatever you want, its your car. Ive got no problem with the sixpack scoop, only get the whole hood with the scoop molded in. I just put a sixpack scoop on my steel hood, bad mistake, it didnt last long. I should have used a maxwedge scoop, but i had a nice raisin bran scoop so i used that when the sixpack scoop started breaking up.

Its an old super stock hood that I believe looks better on an A-body. Replace my air grabber on my '69 GTX? One vote thumbs down. JMO of course.
