Anyone that has used either of these ecu boxes. Does everyone use the Coils they say need to be used ? Or are people using which ever they prefer ?
I used the MSD Blaster II as recommended, with zero issue.
On the Rev-N-Nator unit. I have installed 4 of them, and no problems. Different cars - for myself and friends.Which system was that for?
Thought rev-n-ator wanted firecore and FBO wants petronix?

I have had several great telephone conversations with Troy & Laura....really nice people with a passion for their product.+1
I got the first batch of the Rev-N-Nator ( #20 ). On those days they didn't specify any coil to be used as far I recall. Anyway I got in touch with them and mentioned about Blaster II coil, and they told was fine with it.
I Purchased the complete kit, distributor, coil and box. The system performs as advertised, better starting and idle, no more smelly exhaust, smooth acceleration too.Anyone that has used either of these ecu boxes. Better power too. Do exactly what it tells you for the settings.
I have a 73 318 two Holley 2280. The engine wa re-built with a Mopar cam .430 inch lift. I always had it set for about 17 on the fly wheel, and with this dist set for 18. For a total 35 degrees. at idle it is about 31 to 32 degrees at idle 925 rpm, 22 hg of vacuum. Very efficient. with vacuum advance connected to the intake not the carb.
The car has never run better, I also use Bell fuel additive for the ethanol correction.
He said he has full vacuum at the distributor at idle
Sounds like 15 degrees of vacuum advance at idle along with his initial
I am not getting into the ported versus full versus nothing versus something =
your base timing is 31 . And all in is 35 ?
So you have 4 degrees of mechanical advance ? Never heard someone with that much base timing
