It's like 80 bucks...

Yikes, 2 bills for a 40 dollar part, we should get Dorman in on making repop...

I'm using an actual hockey puck.

$5.99 for two of them and free shipping.

It's fine after over 4 years.

If rubber is going to deteriorate, it will do it in the Southwest or in FL.

When drilling my puck I noticed the chip spiraled and felt like a soft compound, high heat tire.

That's a very good sign for durability.

Also note that because of the design of the flanges, you can remove the puck entirely and the max turn travel of the wheel is about 1/6 circumference before the opposing mount points engage.
With the metal reinforcements in the factory joints, it's limited to about 1/4.
Not a big difference IMO.

I have no fear whatsoever of my puck rendering me unable to steer.

I just got mine done. Ended up using dorman #31002. Had to get two and double them up.

Hi boys and girls, this discussion periodically comes up from time to time, and i put the options out on this forum back in 2012. Here is the thread. By the way, i did end up using the steel one i made just because of the proximity to the header pipes. Been working just fine!

Here is the thread.

There is a more recent thread where the one for Land Rover floated up. I think YY1 started that thread. Is more extensive on info

I believe I am in year 5 now, and the puck looks like I put it in yesterday.
