I am redoing a 68 Roadrunner and need some advice on who to use for a dash pad? I am needing a blue pad and want something as close to factory as possible in fit, finish, and grain. I also want a steel original core and not an ABS deal. Let the opinions and info begin! Let me know your thoughts please!

call A.M.S obsolete they may have a n.o.s but it will $$$$$$

I don't mind a repop, but I want a nice quality one not some cheesy plastic junk. Just trying to find out what you all are using.

Don't use Classic Industries! I purchased one for my '68 Charger about 3 years ago and after installing it, the vinyl is pulling away from the area where it tucks under. Looking through the windshield you can see the defect. And it appears that the vinyl is continuing to shrink.
I still have my old one that's not in bad shape but needs to be restored. Who's the best vendor for that?

^^ That is what I am looking for. I see a post on BE&A body stuff and how they were a nice product , but I don't think they are still in business. I am looking for all opinions and advice.

Im in the same boat as well. Will be needing same in the near future. thanks

Been down this path for my '69 and PG Classics in Ottawa, Ontario (mfg in China) has the grain down pat... but absolutely ZERO detail correct at the ends or the heater control indent. Legendary has ALL the detail perfect and then their pad has ZERO grain. Hoping what Steve is sending me for my Bird is nice... apparently out of Texas but only time will tell... come'on USPS... lol

@3white74 Steve? Just talking to him about it myself.

I went the ABC route Cory.
I got it in black and used Herb’s interior dye on it.
The fit and finish is more than acceptable IMO.

ABC Moparts are supposed to be the best "repro's", they are made on original steel cores if you order them that way, but it looks like they are out of stock right now. I put repro's in quotes because if they are building a new dash on an original frame then it's no different than what Just Dashes or Instrument Specialties are doing and calling restored. That being said, Just Dashes and Instrument Specialties can restore your original pad. I'd stay away from the eBay ones and any of the ones that are not built on original steel frames. I'm no expert, this is just information that I've gathered when I was looking to do something with the dash pad for my '70.

I bought my black, steel frame, dash pad from Roseville's eBay store in 2018 for $275 with free shipping. I'm no expert on grain but it looks like it has grain and it fits well.

Their website says they are in stock for $349. Nothing about shipping or core charges.

If they are out of stock at ABT, you can call Roseville and ask where they get theirs.

Thanks " mechanic". Just ordered from Roseville. Will post a review when arrives. RUFFCUT

Yes please... let us know if the grain matches OE and if the heater control area details are correct, as well as the chamfered edges at each end.

Yep Bob at ABCMoparts is the go to guy but he has been having a hard time keeping anything in stock lately. Get your name on his list. Send him your core to have redone would probably help.
