Let's see your stance/tire combo

Dare to be different, I almost swapped torsion bars but I saw another ‘63 Polara that went to Sweden, it too was slightly lowered, so I stole (borrowed), the stance.....It’s difficult to get the stance just right and have the car ride and drive good...I tried lots of recipes...

What’s the secret?

I'm going to cheat and sneak in a C body I did in my mid 20's for the sake of sharing stance, since it is a '65. A C was all I could afford to get then (I think 2012?). If it helps my case, my next project in the shed is a '65 B body lol.

I do not remember the exact tire width and height but this was a modern General Altimax Sport tire on 15x8 D window steel wheels, obviously going for the Nascar vibe. 205/60/15 if I had to guess. The torsion bars are cranked pretty low and there are some cheap air shocks (that actually came on the car when I bought it in junk condition) in the rear that I kept at about 25% full for the height. It rode smooth and straight.

2 questions:
- anyone put these deep dish smoothies on a road runner?
- can i run a 10" wide in the rear without modifications?

Yes. USCT off set spring kit and slightly shorter Moser housing.

Won't work with that backspacing - unless you jack up the rear with air shocks. You would need 5" - 5.25" bs depending on your car.

thanks for your help.
you can get 15x10 with 5.25" BS -6

other options would be:
15x8 with 4.5"BS
15x9 with 4.25BS (not sure that this would work)

You will have to measure precisely on your car to determine what it needs. 10 inchers are tight, but sure look good. I always end up ordering custom backspacing on the rears.

Pwr 440, need some more details about the rear setup. Did you mini tubs or relocate the springs. What rim did you use and narrow axle. Drum brakes or disc. Thank you in advance and I must say it is a sweet ride. The stance looks great.
Thanks for the compliment. The springs are moved into the frame rails and i "massaged" the inner wheel wells with a hammer. It's crude but it worked. I had some cop wheels widened out to 11 inches. I had taken measurements to use a 10 inch wheel but when the wheel guy talked me into 11 inch he (me) didn't take into account the extra inch sooooo i have to run spacers. the 10 inch wheel with this tire would have been perfect. It only rubs when i pull into my driveway due to the driveway having such a steep angle. Drum brakes and the axle is from a 1970 B body.
