I am about to hang an AMD full 1/4 on my 69 Dodge Charger, what product is out there to mimic the factory sound deadening applied to the back side of the 1/4?
I only have to replace the driver 1/4 so I would like to mimic the factory look, so the new one matches the original one on the other side.
That and a seam sealer that also is close to the factory look(white or beige)
Getting it as close to the factory look as I can is very important to me.
Thanks very much for advice.

The stuff from Resto Rick is about as close as you can get

This is what I use also. Be advised though, technique will vary the appearance to a great degree ( air pressure, equipment used, distance from surface etc.) Best to practice a bit on some scrap and lockdown the parameters required for a match before spraying the quarter.

I really like the stuff that Resto Rick sells.

I've had cars where the left looked different from the right!! Factory original cars too....

I use the 3m gravel guard. Its water based. It actually drys. And it you can load it on with little chance of running You need the gun and tubes. It is sandable ( you should use sealer) paintable and will not show pin holes are staining. Just a suggestion.

Yeah, I will defiantly practice, on scrap before I go for the final application. I would definitely want the stuff that dries, just like the factory stuff.
I know how some of the undercoating sold remains flexible.
Thanks for the advice.

The 3M Schutz is what I used. Seemed pretty close to factory to me

I bought T-Rex bedliner kit that came with a shutz gun, it will do infinite size textures based off of the air pressure. You can even buy the tintable if you want, use a respirator though, fumes are pretty bad .

On my 69 Charger, I noticed that the 1/4's seamed to have gotten a THICK sound deadening, before 1/4 was welded, then once installed in car, the back side of exposed 1/4s look to have not gotten directly painted, but just the overspray from painting the trunk floor, and under trunk area, has landed on it and given it a light "fog coat".

I have not yet disposed of the original crunched 1/4 so I have it to compare and try and replicate it.
