hey my fellow mopar brothers and sisters, can any one tell me if going from 383 to a 440 with 383 having a 10 in clutch with 130 teeth and i'm wanting to go to an 11 in with 143 teeth in the 440, will the starter still work or if there are other problems that will occur. Jegs , summit, mcleod, can't answer my question. Please , will be grateful for any help.

As far as I can recall, only the hemi sticks had a different starter (direct drive).

Thanks 493 Mike, best info i've gotten yet, I've had a few of these mopar muscle cars through the years and never known of any different starters but just thought i'd missed something.

I like the 10.95 clutch and the 130 tooth wheel. Look at Brewers Performance site might help your decision.

You need to get an 11" bellhousing as well, and that will put the starter in the correct place.

Thanks for the help, will call brewers, I already have a lakewood blowproof bell housing and think it will except 10.95 but going to check with them for sure, thanks again!

The Lakewood should accept both flywheels, 130 tooth for 10-1/2", 10.95", 11" scalloped or 143 for a standard 11" as I have. Starter will be the same. The starter location will change. A block saver plate may need to open up for the starter relocation if going to the 143 tooth.
