I am looking at new clutches for my 68 RR. I have the 3 finger pressure plate but as you probably know they push pretty hard. I was looking at a diaphragm set up. I sure would like any suggestions yes/no, brand, or any information on this type of clutch. Thank you from Big Mo.

I liked the centerforce dual friction clutch. Remove the large spring from the clutch pedal if you go with a diaphragm style clutch.

I just went thru this with my 69 RR. I just wanted a nice replacement clutch for street driving so I decided to purchase an O'Reilly's diaphram " Replacement" clutch/pressure plate . I had to remove the big under dash spring also. After having the flywheel resurfaced I had such a chatter problem I immediately removed the entire set up as it was undrivable. Turns out the pressure plate was warped. I asked a friend who owns a trans shop what brand clutch and he told me he only uses LUK brand. Turned out they're pretty cheap so I took a chance on one. Couldn't be happier with this set up, easy pedal, smooth as silk engagement and no slippage at WOT.

I'm a fan of Centerforce's Dual Friction clutch as well. Easy pedal pressure, smooth engagement and holds well if you're doing 'spirited driving'. For stock applications the LUK brand is great. Very popular with transmission shops. Do get the flywheel surfaced and change the pilot and throwout bearing while it's apart.
