The ones I rode were 1930s-40's era Marmon-Harrigntons, and Flxible flyers, built in Canada.
I remember in 1977 just before they bought the 900 series Flyers, they had an open house at the car barn.
That was super fun for a 9 year old, seeing all the hoods open and various states of repair and disassembly.
They also had large scale models of the Flyer trolleys and several "these might be next" models.
They had to be 1/10 scale or even larger. Most had the roofs removed so you could see the interiors.
I believe Marmon 515 is restored at Carillon Park.
I definitely rode that one. I likely rode all the 500 series that were still in service in 77 and after.
It was the last in service and they paraded it around before retiring it.
I also remember when they bought the gm RTS II's in IIRC 1980.
Here's a Marmon and an RTS II. 501 is in a curious paint scheme as it's fresh and says "City railway" which I believe even preceded "City Transit" as the operating company prior to GDRTA/MVRTA.
They look to be approaching 3rd on Main.
Above the 501, you can see part of the Biltmore Hotel sign. My school was to the left on that street.
Yes, I could probably also be a "bus geek".
