After a 400+ lb front end weight reduction, I swapped out the huge & heavy honkin '70 B body 440 disc brakes & spindle to lighter A body 9 inch Drum Spindle with aftermarket disk aluminum calipers & hub.....Street & strip drives normal & I don't do hi G's turns....Does pull a couple inches air on dead hook launches (5500 rpm) .. Considering the lightened front end weight, anyone see any Spindle breakage fail safety issues immenent concern ? ....tom.

Nah I'd say your good to go! .
Pulling wheels off ground is always stressful on parts but I'd say your ok .

I did have to Drill out Oversize the Smaller spindle's tapered upper ball joint hole.

I Can't get off the petal or the 8 qurt dropped tunnel pan Will hit (only 2 " road clearance) !!

Don't know about A-spindles, but this is just a matter of time until you ruin the pan.

No pan hits yet...Factory Oem Spindle strength main concern.....Any strength/metallurgy/quality diff between original factory Oem compared to available new repops or custom brake conversion kit spindle parts ?
