Went to only 1 show this year but at least it was a Mopar one (40th Anniv. Mopars In Motion).

When I went they asked each driver if their car was stock or modified. So I've been wondering how we all view our cars as Stock or Modified.

While I certainly understand what each means I wonder how fine that line is.

Take my car for example: It's numbers matching and mostly all original except it had some changes made back in the 80's 2 or more owners ago:

Edlebrock carb and intake, converted to electronic ignition, headers, Mopar performance valve covers. Purple cam was added and I have to use a vacuum pump so I can break. Front drums converted to disks.

Other than that it's all as it left the factory in 68, so I'm curious as to what category you think my car would fall.

Most shows consider 6 or less bolt on upgrades as stock. It is going to differ between shows.

for me stock is in the appearance ,rims not a biggie to me.

Stock means stock, hmm where did I hear that again...
I start drawing the line when you have a bunch of aftermarket stuff.(non Mopar)
And a custom interior or lack of original trim really solidifies my take on a car.
I'm not a judge or expert by any means.
Just know what I like.
But if someone wants to add some performance I'm all for it.

I think Carlisle fun field says 3 modifications or more IIRCC.

IMHO if it's considered "day two" it should still be classified as stock.
Many bolt on items were offered at the dealership so judges should keep this in mind.

Over the years I had really "stock" stock to really modified. Now I'm to old to care.

Only pure stock is Stock. Everything else, even one change.... is Modified. Go ahead and enter your Modified car in Stock, but it will/should be judged negatively against the cars that are stock. Dealer-installed packages should be considered as stock equipment.

I don't go to shows to be judged stock or modified. When they start the trophy presentations it time for me to go.

Another reason I never considered the show scene. My idea was performance, and being able to prove it. No offence.
