Here are some shots from today's show. For those of you not familiar with hydroplane racing on the Detroit River, the Roostertail name on the hydroplane refers to a famous restaurant that is right on the Detroit River. The pits and the race course are right in front of the restaurant.

Thanks for the pics Mike. I ended up at the USMA show at ABC Warehouse today.

Nice. There is 0 activity in Phoenix. I think it’s been a year since I’ve done anything car. Last fun was drags in October 2019.

St Regis police car. My dad almost bought a Indiana State Trooper St Regis police car. It rode like a cloud and the 360 was surprisingly peppy. Thanks for the pictures.

Elwood - "What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile?" Jake - "Get the lighter fixed."
Trivia question; what song is playing on the 8 track player just before they get pulled over for running a red light? There is a brief shot of the player with the cassette in it in the movie.

The best of Sam and Dave

Absolutely correct as to what album was in the player, however, the question was what song was playing?
If I remember correctly they were listening to Soothe Me.

Give that man a kewpie doll.

Here is a tougher one; Where did Elwood get the can of spray glue he used on the gas pedal of the Good Ole Boy's RV?

He grabbed it as he was going in to quit his job at the glue factory "to become a priest". I don't believe they ever say the name of the factory.

You are good Geetex. There are a couple of scenes that are very rarely shown on TV and that is one of them. In another, when the brothers go to Elwood's "apartment", where does he park the Bluesmobile, and how does he get out of the car?

I grew up listening to the sound of hydroplane racing at the Dayton Hydrobowl/Eastwood park every summer.

Ahh - 12 cylinder Merlins and Allisons. I hate the sound of turbines - unless it is from a bronze colored Chrysler.

He parks in a city electrical shed and climbs out the window and over the top of the car. As you can tell I've seen the movie a time or two. It's a personal favorite of mine. I went to the same high school that John Belushi went to, although a number of years later, I was there when his younger brother Billy was there, Billy was friends with my older sister. My high school days aligned with Belushi being on SNL and when they made The Blues Brothers movie, so as you can imagine he was a huge deal at school as was the movie. The gas station that they blew up for the movie was 2 towns over so a bunch of my friends blew off school to go watch them film that, I was supposed to go but I was already skating on thin ice at school so I didn't go.

Great stories. I believe the shed supposedly housed huge transformers for the el. I don't know if this is true or not, but somewhere I once heard that parking the Bluesmobile next to those transformers was going to be the explanation for the car's "super powers" such as doing a backflip over a cop car, but that plot line was never added to the movie. Since you got both of those, which as I said are rarely seen, you surely know the name of the salon that Carrie Fisher works at, and what she is reading in the salon as she does her own nails.
