sandblasting 8 3/4 houseing

I glued a PVC cap on a piece of 6” PVC pipe and soaked the axle tubes in evaporust. I did one side at a time.

used a wire wheel on the center after I wrapped it in rags soaked in evaporust.

I did this with a Ford 9 inch (on a race car before I found Mopars :) ). First, you have to disassemble everything and pressure wash inside and out with a strong degreaser. And after it's blasted, wash again and then use a metal-prep solution to prevent flash rust. Anything less and you end up with a mess.

blasting a bare 8 3/4 rear end anyone done that.
Sand blasted a 12 bolt GM Axle hsg Several years ago for a 23 T Roadster I Built so I could have it powder coated. Worked great. Make sure you clean it well because you do.not want any sand blasted material left on the assembly.

Don't pull the carrier studs out they have sealant of some sort on them and after you knock them back in they can seep oil from behind the carrier nuts.
