I have a 65 Coronet with a 1970 440. I'm running headman long tube headers and stock 906 cast iron heads with "straight plugs." I was considering E-Street Cylinder Heads for Big Block Chrysler Part Number: 350-5090. Here are my concerns. These heads have angle plugs and are rumored to have spark plug clearance issues with headers. They are also rumored to have stock vacuum advance distributor clearance issues . Has anyone either had these issues or have successfully installed these heads on a similar engine/chassis and header combination?
If these wont work, does anyone have recommendations for alternate cyl heads with 75 cc combustion chambers?

thanks

I can’t help you on the spark plug fit with those headers and angled plugs, but another option would be Stealth heads milled about .025”-.030” to get you to the 75cc range.

If needed....... relieving the head for distributor clearance isn’t really a big deal.

E Street 5090

Zero issues with Chrysler factory points or Chrysler factory electronic ignition distributor
Firecore distributor works fine also with vacuum advance

Pertronix distributor did not fit

Don’t know about MSD

Headers , sorry can’t help as I run factory HP Exhaust Manifolds

I'm running the E Street 5093's with 1 7/8" TTI Headers and no issues with spark plug clearance.

I also ran the Stealths and they were fine as well.

I ran Edelbrock heads with a stock electronic distributor with no clearance issues. I also had 1 3/4 TTI headers and since the plugs angle away from the ports there was actually more clearance.

I had a set of E Streets on a 383 in a 66 B Body, only spark plug that was tight was number 6. Mopar electronic distributor fit fine with the Edelbrock heads. No issues, Mine made good power to 5800 rpm.

In my 65 I have a 68 383 with eddy heads and headman headers #6 and 5 plug are tight but I just bought 2 DEI protectors for plug wires from auto zone, No issues other than that. I also have a fire core electronic ignition vacuum advance no issues at all
