Hello. Do you have names of the previous owners or any documentation? Using the original purchase paperwork, I was able to track down the original owner of my car by doing people name searches in the states I knew that he lived (I had two old addresses for him). I wrote him a letter asking if he was the original owner and I got a phone call from him. He gave me a bunch of info on the car and it was very interesting to talk with him.

lilcuda I would start with the DMV and trace back the vin number with each owner and go back as far as you can. good luck:thumbsup:

you are lucky, i found the original owner of my 69 RR and he is still alive however i cant seem to get hold of him....i sent his son a facebook message and no reply.....i have a phone number for the original man i should just try again but i dont want to look like a stalker...!!!....all i can think is if some bloke in his 20s went out and bought a brand new roadrunner, he probably would be interested in cars at least and most likely would feel some sort of interest in his old beast.

You should be able to find his address using online tools. Since you have his phone number, you can make sure it's the right person. I had to do some sleuthing to find the original owner of my car because there are/were a lot of guys in his state with the same name. I narrowed it down to an age range and was pretty sure I had the correct person, so I took a chance and wrote a nice letter to him and included a picture of the car that I took after it was unloaded from the car hauler's trailer. I had my wife read through the letter to make sure I didn't sound like a stalker. Three days after I sent it, my phone rang. The guy was really happy to know that his old car was in the hands of someone who was going to take care of it. He had lost track of where it was.

Good luck in your quest!

Thanks, i will try and just call him this week..im sure i have the right person.

I guess i am a bit scared of probing into someones privacy however...my primary role at work is a sales person so i should be bigger than this..haha. i guess its just different when you want to know more abt someones history with a old car and you feel like some foreign spammer thrying to extract info out of someone....

I keep thinking.....if i was this guy.. id be absolutely chuffed to know someone bought my old car and actually cares about it....id want to tell him/her all the stories good or bad.....

In fact it made me do a rego check on my old 2010 xr6 turbo i once had (my first performance car....unfortunately no one knows them in the usa....however they were a awesome car for its time....tunability and simplicity.....) ....unfortunately i cant find anything on it.....i hope its not wrapped around a tree.... :(
