After a 2 year hiatus I was able to start working on the Charger again. It is currently at the shop getting prepped to paint. While I am waiting I started in on the seats, I media blasted the top and bottom of the drivers side, primed and painted and after a bit of a struggle got it covered. Not perfect but not bad either. I decided to "cook" the other seat frames as it is pretty hard to blast them.

Nice work on the seat, looks pretty darn good to me!

I have to do something down the road to clean up my seats frames for the 64 Polara I'm restoring. Can I ask what you 'cooked' your seat frames in?

Thanks!

It is just water and washing soda. If you aren't familiar with the process, here is a link to a video explaining the process.

Very informative, Hawkeye, and a great way to do larger parts. Thank you very much for posting this!

After 2 years of paint jail, my car is FINALLY painted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is as close as we could get to fk5.

Looks great - now the fun begins to put stuff on for real and get it done - this was the time I really started to get excited about my restoration.

I don't remember the exact color, but I went though the paint chip book at the shop and this looked like what I wanted. This is the orange/copper color I had envisioned. Sometimes FK5 turns out more brown than I like.
The drive train is done so I have to do the side glass, interior (seats and dash are done, shop is going to do the headliner and front and rear glass) and finish the exterior.

I see your car coming along slowly. Great work. I am getting ready to wield that floor in that I got off you.
