hi All,

im looking for a 12v dash lighting point to tap into for my Autometer tach install.

i got the 12v switch source, the ground, and the Tach line all figured out.

just need to know if there is an easy to access 12v dash light line. i could not tell from the factory manual if the instrument panel bulb lines were external and easy to get to

is there a point on the back of the light switch to tap into?

thanks,

watermelon

That's pretty much the same tach I have, but mine is the 8K version, ( thinking on change to a smaller one Autometer have now and even with closer character fonts to my cluster, which wasn't available when I got mine )

As mentioned, any orange wire from underdash will make the job. Since it seems your car is floor shifter, I bet you should have an orange wire running down/around the column originally designed to feed the column shifter cars. Just not used when floor shifter.

If not, cigar lighter light, radio face light... or as mentioned by kiwigtx some source designed for that to add factory options and with cavities still free to add ( usually barrel kind terminals ), like this

( red one with pink wire is battery )

thanks all.

will dig in under the dash. i probably should have installed this when i had the drivers seat removed.
