Spent the last 3 hours slowly sanding removing rust and Old paint so I can prep the metal. Man that back area is a back breaker being 6’1”. Sanding the roof also. Is it the glue from the vinyl top that is so hard to cut through? Going through 80 grit like it’s nothing.

Just took my shirt off after working on the car all day and look what I found on the back! A bee on my bee. Seems suitable.

The glue sometimes is harder and tends to buildup on the sand paper quicker. Had the same issue when doing our car. These were my pain pills during all of the sanding and grinding.....

I've used various solvents to remove the glue. Some being better than others but anything that will soften it is a help as then you can scrape it off with a putty knife. Been so long since I removed a vinyl top that I can't remember what was used. Think even MEK was used once....
