I noticed AMD had a 3” wider inner wheelhouse. I’m basically replacing the whole back half except for the frame rails. Is there any real downside to going wider?

What’s the biggest you can go with a stock wheelhouse? I’d like the look of a 305+.

anybody had any experience with these vs the kit?

You didn't state which car so I'm guessing is is the 68 Charger?
You can fit a 315 in the stock wheelwell. The problem is NOT the inner wheel tub, it is the outer tub. The stupid shape of the outer tub does NOT follow the shape of the quarter panel. If the quarter panels are off, that is a great time to do something like THIS:

I have a 295-45-18 in mine.

Also the trick is getting the correct backspace, some rims don't offer many options for a 10" rim. Your probably going to want a 5-5.5 BS. Unless your going to relocate the springs I don't think you'll need mini tubs. But I did do my GTX incase down the road I wanted too. You'll have to rework the gas tank vent line & trunk mat if you mini tub, along with the cardboard piece between the seat & trunk.

If you replacing everything but the frame rails, move the springs into the frame rails & do a full tub. Then the only limit is the shape of the quarter panel. My Satellite has moved springs, full tubs, narrowed Dana. It has 325/50-15 Street Drag radials. Would take more.

Can a guy do a USCT 3 inch spring relocation kit and leave the stock tubs in? Would you gain any width this way ? Thanks for any reply

My 67 is mini rubbed, not sure what the widest tire is that I can get in there but its sitting on ProTrac 50s which are 28.5" tall x 12.5" wide.

I would do it now if you got it apart ,these cars need a big back tire and once you do all your metal work/ paint you are not going to want to mess with it again, not to mention having the cost of buying different tires/ wheels and possibly altering the rear length after you bought skinny ones.
