Hey gang, I bought a GZ-712CRS Radiator Support to Hood Seal from Lawson's Restorations @ Carlisle (mine was missing) and finally installed it tonight. 11 holes lined up OK but 2 holes in the rubber seal (marked in pics with yellow tape) are off ~ 1 inch horizontally. Did I put it on backwards or are the holes in the rubber seal not correct (one of the holes in my bracket to hood is off a bit vertically, not concerned about that). Attached are some pics, please advise...

Looks like you installed correctly.
Guess it's too hard for people to reproduce things correctly as usual.

Thanks moparmarks, can you please send me some pics of your '72 Sepring's seal? Forroadrunnersonly forum say I have it backwards... It was missing when I bought the car in Spring '20.

Sure I can get some pics. Have a few 71-2 B's right now along with the 30 or so that I've owned in the past and that is how they go on.
Nice car by the way.

Oops. I'm backwards and so is your seal. I was thinking it went that way but it doesn't. Long day and I shouldn't be trying to think right now.

Been a long time, sure looks backwards to me. Mounts from the front I think.

Thanks team, issue sorted. I flipped it around now it fits! Seems strange that the "open" side faces front. Does this rubber make any difference in the motor temperature?

The open side seals better with an increase in speed as the air pressure forces the seal against the radiator support and hood. It Helps prevent the air from bypassing the radiator.

Drove 80 miles today didn't see any difference in temp, and after 40 miles at least 4 of the metal push fasteners popped out!
:beep:
