Hemi converted (don well ) from 6 cyl car. How are the exhaust supposed to terminate out the back of the car? This looks shorter than it should be. And, what is that stout bracket with the hole in it (one on both sides of the frame near the bumper)?

They turn down, not to the side. I have some NOS tailpipes on my 67 Coronet R/T. I will get a picture up today.

You can get repo tail pipes, cost? I went to a Midas Muffler shop and asked if they had bend spec's for a 66 Satellite tail pipes with dual exhaust. They had them but they said 2" pipe, I asked them to make them in 2.25" for Hemi's for me, fit fine $225. Had them leave a little extra length on both ends. Measure your pipe and decide whats right for you. If they don't have the spec at your Midas shop ask them to contact the Midas shop in Southington Ct. and they could FAX the spec's. 66 Coronet same as 66 Satellite, maybe Coronet pipe could be 1" longer in front of axle but doubt it.

If jerry says those are correct to hrn I'm sure they are. But my opinion is that they are too low and don't get the fumes far enough to exit behind the bumper.

I believe the angle brackets with the holes were used to tie the cars down during shipping when they were new.

Here is a picture from Accurate exhaust these are supposed to be exact copies of the OE exhaust. Jerry knows his stuff.

This says 66/67 GTX Hemi exhaust too but they didnt make the GTX until 67 so I guess this is the chrome tip version.

All I can say is they are NOS, correct numbers for the car. The mounting straps may be a little weak as they are the originals and a little cracked, but the repos wouldn't fit correctly.

Mine look the same length at Jerry's, but turn out a bit. I am sure Jerry is correct, but I also think they would have wanted to be a bit longer towards the bumper.
Thanks guys for all the help.
