Hey all,

I’m in the middle of installing a TTI Exhaust kit on our 74 Satellite/rr clone. The passenger side went together without a hitch, but I’m finding there’s no clearance on the drivers side between the fuel tank and frame to mount the exhaust pipe or tip hanger.

drivers side:

And a couple shots of the tank, for reference:

Any pics or advice from others with a 74 b body or who know what the issue is here are much appreciated! Thank you

I'm only using the rear most mounts, but there was room enough on my 73.

I think I put mine on with the rubber part lower than the bolt into the frame, where yours are above.

Are your pipes gonna come out at the right height?

I'm putting machine gun tips on mine and they needed the pipe low, as with the hangers mounted the other way.

thanks for the reply; stock mine only has the one rearmost mount on passenger side as shown, I think 318s only had a single exit exhaust so that may be why - I could certainly remove it and move the new mounts to those positions, wasn’t sure where it mounts based on our exhaust being turndowns. As for height I won’t know for sure until I get everything hooked up but it seems to be at the right height, mufflers And center pipes fit nicely - just having this issue with the axle back portion on driver side.

eventually I want to put the machine gun tips back on (previous owner put an extremely cobbled/hacked up dual exhaust in, but luckily they had those tips on it) but I’m just trying to get everything in it’s correct spot.

regarding tank position, does that look similar to yours or does your tank have more clearance on driver side?

thanks again, I appreciate it
