hey guys.
thought it would be easy to find answer to this question.
my 68 roadrunner is early build ( november 67 ).
the switch panel is original to the car .my wiper switch has the small white dot between the
off and the high setting and the wiper motor is a 2 speed.also original to the car.
i do not see many 68's with the white dot
anybody know why?
thanks greg

They ran out of white paint at the factory. That white dot should add at least $20k to the value of that car.

This picture I found on the web shows a white dot on the panel, its a 1968 Plymouth Road Runner. Assuming this is the dot you speak of.

This one is advertised as a 1969. However Its probably a 1968 and they just don't know it. LINK here.

This one is in my friends 1969 Roadrunner. But not sure if its original to the car anyway. The dot is there just not painted. Perhaps its more common than you think. Just not sure which year its specific to.

hey guys.thanks for all the info.i guess i still would like a definitive answer on why some 68's have the dot and some do not?

Mine is 69 and I painted the dot white as it appeared to be white before.

hi again.i do appreciate the responses that i am getting but i am waiting for the expert.someone out there has to know for sure ??
why do some 68's have the white dot and some do not ?

Is your panel completely smooth (68), or rough grain(69)?

The definitive answer is.........
Some had the dot, some did not. Some even had the switch opening outline painted white(very few, at least here on the left coast)
I used to restore these switch panels (125+done, with 50+ still unrestored(until they turned to ashes) and out here almost all had the dot painted from the factory. It didn't seem to matter if the panel had a 2sp. wiper switch, or a 3sp. switch. '68 panel or '69.

hi.ok .i can live with that.plenty of mysteries out there when it comes to mopar.
as for the white paint ,i could swear that my panel had remnants of white paint on the switch outlines but could have been the natural metal showing through the black paint so i did not do the white outline.
thanks.greg
