Amazing how many tips & tricks I've tried over years to get a truly 'clean' windshield. Has anyone found the magical solution? Ya know, ability to look thru the windshield toward the morning sun and not see streaks and haze?

Haven't tried it but have read wipe inside and outside with rubbing alcohol then use window cleaner.

The old timers would use 0000 steel wool and rubbing alcohol. Scrub and scrub.
Then take newspaper and a mist of warm water and scrub. Follow up with car wax and lots of buffing.
I have found that Griots Garage glass polish works great. It might take 3, or 4 applications, but the results are fantastic and long lasting.

fine steel wool for bugs and overspray......... followed by windex with NEWSPAPER!

I washed some house windows yesterday. The cotton cloth was full of lint as was the paper towel. Newspaper for the win!

I always use Windex and newspaper, if I have tree sap or tough bugs I use a single edge razor blade.

Love this stuff ! Use it on everything !

I have found newspaper with color ink does not work as well as plain black&white newspaper.

I never use the comics.......only the fake news section!
The fake news works better than the non-fake news? Maybe this has been my problem...

' Invisible Glass' & newspaper. The wife gets Sprayway for the house.

If you continually have streaks on your glass after a basic cleaning with windex, you have to do a 2 step cleaning. Simple...magic eraser both sides. Then windex or the window cleaner below. Always use a microfiber cloth.
I always use Turtle Wax Dash & Glass on all my car windows. Works great everytime and never any residue. Bonus is if you get it on the dash = no problem.

Sprayway X2. Windex leaves residue & streaks. NEWSPAPER!!!

And here’s a related tip: don’t smoke in your freakin vehicle!
That tar builds up on the inside of the glass. Because it’s a uniform coating it’s not really noticeable until you’re driving into the sunset. Because it’s an actual tar, water and water based cleaners won’t remove it, they just smear and streak it.
Up here in cold climates it’s particularly bad because for eight months of the year the glass is cold and the tar sticks more readily to cold surfaces.

Rhodium

Think it's available at Eastwoods . . . Will take off acid rain spots and make the window crystal clear, but needs a lot of elbow grease too

If time is not an issue:

I wipe the outside with Isopropyl twice and microfiber. It will be cloudy.
Then I use vinegar and DISTILLED water and terry cloth then repeat but use microfiber.
Then I wipe with just distilled water and newspaper or microfiber.
Then I get my clay bar out and I clay bar the windshield. It will surprise you.
Then I do the vinegar and water and the water rinse.
Done and so smooth.

For inside, its just distilled and microfiber. No smoking in any of my cars. If the inside is bad, then vinegar and water followed by water only.

Its an arm killer.

A solution of Vinegar water then use a proper chamois to rinse/dry it off.
I also throw in a shot or 2 of rubbing alcohol which helps with evaporation and leaves streak free glass. Good Luck
