Got the chassis all setup now to use my trans brake for launching the car.
The chassis setup should now be able to handle a 5000rpm chip in the trans brake circuit.

I was only able to use the foot brake on my only outing on the car at the NHRA March Meet.
I had to footbrake it at about 2000rpm because the chassis wasn't setup right to use the transbrake (or the footbrake at anything over 2000rpm). When I tried to use the transbrake (with several different shock settings) the car did everything but leave smoothly...it bounced, it porpoised, it spun, it did everthing but HOOK. Now I have done Major changes to the chassis, ladder bar setup, wheelie bar setup, spring rates and shock settings.

The best 60' time I had was only a 1.334 when the car went 9.26.

Looking for something in the 1.25 to 1.28 with the transbrake at 5000rpm launch.
If it hooks and I can get the 60' into the 1.20's then I hopefully will have my first 8 second time slip.

I told a buddy of mine if I get a solid 8 second time slip I might just park it and oodle over that time slip for the weekend .... lol. Wish me luck.

hope you get that 8 second pass good luck and stay safe

good luck

Good luck and keep us updated.

Good luck Mike. And I know you are a good racer so you dont need alot of luck. Have fun also as that always makes it better. Ron

For comparison. Ran 1/8 last weekend. Had a little ballast still in the car, 3360lbs. Track was pretty loose after 100ft or so. Had to really drive the car. Off the footbrake best run.

Wow, Those are some good numbers Doug
Wallace Racing stats shows 5.757 @119.87 is 9.02 @147.45

How did it run Mike?
Doug
Doug,
Thanks for the inquiry.

I got all suited up and strapped in for my first qualifying hit on Saturday...ready for my 8 second time slip but then I got real light headed and dizzy when I was pulling up to go into the water box.....heat from being strapped in the car for 20 minutes waiting in line while wearing all the /5 fire suit stuff required for 9 second and lower runs...I had to abort the run, and the weekend. I just couldn't take a chance of passing out during the run. I guess my age (78, almost 79) is catching up with me.
I did have a good time watching all my buddies run and being a spectator...LOL.
November 7th and 8th is the next race. Will probably be in the low 70's then and I will give it another shot.

Better to healthy and come back another day, smart choice.
Doug
