I finally got to my wife's 65 Belvedere wagon cargo area. The spare tire well was gone. I had to make do with one I cut out of a 66 Charger, elongate it and fabricate a new center section. My first big welding job. (I'm an OK welder but a heck of a grinder) Anyway, I sealed the seams and brushed on some thick chassis black paint. What is your suggestion on undercoating? I also want to coat the spare tire well itself. It's not a show car or a resto, just a beach and putt around town car for my wife. Someone said the spray on pickup bedliner. Anyone use this? And what brand? Thanks.

I used Raptor spray bed liner kit purchased off Amazon. Included in the kit was the spray gun used specifically for bed liner. Easy to apply, good texture that corners and fills.

I'm going to look it up. Thanks.

I will second "Raptor" for the underbelly.

Lizard skin. It's made for this. Helps block heat sound and vibration.

I used the TRex bedliner, they even have tintable if you want a certain color. Came with a schutz gun laid down really nice, you can change the texture with air pressure and distance .

ok folks how long has it been on and what type of driven does it get. daily, weekend or trailer queen. just trying to get a idea how long before it starts cracking etc. did you guys do a lot of prep work or a little. tinting is a nice option how messy is it. thanks

It's been on 4 years (how time has flown!). Driven 3 - 4 days a week, not babied and been in the rain several times. No cracks, no chips that I have seen.

Prep was minimal, cleaned the original surface and sprayed it.
