I bought the Edelbrock 800 AVS-2 for my 68 440 RT. What I thought was really strange was when I took it out of the box the F/A mixture screws were backed out as far as they would go and the accelerator pump was on the top hole. I have purchased Edelbrocks before and never seen a carb set up like this right out of the box. Everyone I have bought the F/A screws are within a turn of being closed and the accelerator pump is set in the middle hole. Anyway I put the carb on set the F/A screws set idle which was way off and go for a ride. Accelerates good jump on it and she takes right off. 65 mph let off the gas then step back on it and she hesitates so bad it was like a total dead spot but no backfire, get back home set the pump in the middle hole go for a ride same thing. I tried different metering rod spring and no matter what I do nothing changes the the hesitation. So I'm just wondering if anyone else has run into the same issue and what you did to correct the hesitation.
