Looking For All The Glass For My 68 Charger. Where Should I Buy From? Thanks

I have used ECS for 2 cars and it fit both great. They also date code glass if it matters.

I just bought a windshield from AMD and im happy with the product. :)

Can you do a comparison of the new AMD and original windshield glass with regards to actual thickness of the glass please?

I am curious as years ago I bought an off-brand windshield and the glass was a lot thinner. This meant that the rubber gasket was not tight on the glass. It was replaced soon after that.

I decided to not install the new windshield yet.
Took me multiple months to import it to germany. If i install it now and it cracks soon after i would be mad and the original one isn't too bad yet.

AMD windshield is exactly the same thickness as OE... in my case anyhow..

But this is what i've been told also. (Im counting on that)
And what was also important for me: It's safety glass, just as the original. :)

Peninsula Glass offers a full set package at a reasonable price. The glass had the correct pencil edge just like factory. I bought a full set for a 64 Belvedere post car and the fit was perfect. Available in clear and various things.

Most glass is made in Taiwan buy two factories and everyone private labels it. Ive bought from Peninsula and was very happy. Also don't discount buying from safelite wholsale.

Bought AMD for my 73 Charger, same thickness as OEM and correct tint color.

I had leaks in both lower corners of a new windshield, brand unknown because a glass company put it in. I didn't like the grey tint, so we got a new one from AMD. A better glass installer said the first glass was not thick enough and didn't fit the gasket well. He was quite impressed with the AMD, said it had the Chrysler logo but was not date coded. ..........................MO

Are you guys using a new windshield gasket too? How are the one's from AMD?

I'm in the market from a new windshield and my gasket is hardened.

About a month ago, AMD was out of stock of gaskets for 1968 Plymouth B body. I don't know where the installer got the new gasket, but he said it fit well. For no more than they cost, I would always use a new gasket..................MO.

You want the Precision gasket and a tube of 3M butyl...

Install starts here...

If you have a couple of helpers I would actually try stuffing the glass UP into the top, like a wedge from below, and then work the bottom edge into the gasket. Suspect how it was done on the line as no way they played Russian roulette trying to get the top in last like most of us do..

So, I know it's been a while, but I'm getting ready to put in my front glass and I had purchased
it back in the 80's new. It is from LOF, tinted with a dark tinted are at the top. Everyone is talking
about thickness, but no numbers. How thick is an original windshield?
