Just wondering if you guys paint your aluminum heads or run them natural? What keeps them from oxidizing?

I prefer sleepers, looks stock, runs like no one expects.... Paint them...

If you don't want to paint them spray them with Nylac clear, very good high temp stuff , not cheap tho. google it not sure of spelling.

I painted the trick flow 240’s on my 505 to look more stock and was able to use the stock valve covers.

I've never painted them and oxidation has not been an issue. Maybe if they sat unused, for a real long time they might...

Unpainted....all the aluminum on my engine , intake ,heads waterpump and housing, keeping the car in a dry garage and it only got about a thousand miles and no road salt or that kind of stuff keeps corrosion away

You could paint an entire car in bc/cc for what it would cost to paint a pair of heads with Nylac. Why would you even suggest the stuff ?!?!?!

I used to never paint aluminum. Now I always paint it. It seals the casting, cleans up better and looks fresher longer. Sometimes I use engine color, sometimes cast aluminum.

Urethene lasts forever. You can even bondo the flaws. If you paint it. Then you can wax it.

don't know what your refering to, but it's in a spray can for about $20 bucks. you must be thinking of something else.

These are just a couple of the steps to proper and lasting application of Nylac - and the products don't come in smaller quantities!
