This past year my old school buddy and I have retired. We both started out with Mopars back in the day. Over the years we have moved to different cities but kept in touch. A couple of weeks ago he was in town and stopped by for a beverage and to catch up. He dragged a box from his trunk and said, I brought you a retirement present, you like antiques, guess what it is. I finally gave up and had to open it. I was floored. What is pictured below is my original toolbox from 40 years ago when I started working for an auto glass company right out of high school. That only lasted for about 6 months and I moved on, but I kept the tool box for a couple of years. I out grew it and forgot about it. Well here my buddy has been carting this thing around for 40 years waiting to give it back. Still has some of the vintage stickers on it, even some old Mopar parts in some of the drawers. I have cleaned it up and given it a prominent display spot beside my roller cabinet in the shop.

Love the WRIF 101 sticker. Had one on my tool box also. Remember Kelly Harmon doing the commercials.

Had a 3 drawer Craftsman that I bought in 70 that had some 'vintage' decals on it that the X got when she left. She asked for 'a toolbox' for the stuff she had and was taking. Should have just went and bought her a new one and kept the old one instead of giving it up but at the time I was turning loose of a lot of stuff that figured didn't matter anymore....

I figured you were from Detroit when I seen the WRIF stickers! Great story, you have a great friend there. 440'

We live in Ontario, right across the river from Marine City Michigan. Close enough to Detroit. I can probably still find an old WRIF D.R.E.A.D. card if I look hard enough.

That's cool that you got your old tool box back.

That brings back memories. I had a box like that right down to the stickers, but I had a couple of Hijacker, Crane Cams and Moon stickers

That is cool, great friend you have there.
I like the dread card. Lol.
Back in the day I had a 68 gmc pickup with a big ( disco sucks ) sticker on the tail gate.
To this day some of my old friends still refer to it as ( the disco sucks truck ).

That is surely the mark of a true friend. You're blessed. Enjoy your retirement and stay active.

Very Nice! Lifelong friends like that are the best! The Morning Crew with Dick the Bruiser, Arther Penthalow. The good old days!
