Thomas 1968 Charger project

After spending more than 15 years as a project I finally got to take the virgin voyage with the car this weekend. Was a nervous trip to the local gas station for some fresh fuel.
Everything went well besides the fact that the car need a front end alignment.
So now its on to the details to make it roadworthy.
This is a short clip when I returned home to the driveway.

So, got my project DMV approved a few weeks back with flying colors.
Weighed in at 3700lbs with half tank of gas.
Took the wife for a short roadtrip (900 miles) to celebrate.
Everything works as it should so far.
Plenty of punch from the gen 3 hemi and reaching 23mpg on the highway thanks to my Tremec 6-speed and 3:23 gears.
Man, Im going to enjoy this summer:bananadance:
There will of course be a "to do" list when the winter comes, but for now ist just drive, drive,drive.......:moparsmiley::usflag:

Ok ,so summing up my season 2020. Accumulated nearly 2500 miles so far and things feel great! Will do many upgrades during this winter for ex new 3:91 final gear, new Dakota Digital instrument cluster, new exhaust (less noisy on the freeway) to mention a few.
New wider wheels but still keeping the OE look.
Very happy with how the car turned out and already looking forward to next season.

So here is an update on my project. Fitted new wheels for this year. Magnum 500:s on all corners, 15x8 up front and custom 15x9 at the rear. Tires are 245/60-15 up front and 295/50-15 at the rear. Rebuilt the exhaust system with new mufflers from Apple Racing witch are a bit more quiet on the freeway. Fabricated a new gearbox crossmember for better ground clearence. Also custom fitted an oldschool Hemi aircleaner to my gen 3 hemi. Next up is a switch from 3.23 final gear to a 3.91 witch is planned in a couple of weeks :)
