Does anyone have a parts carb that has the third mixture screw with reverse threads that is above the two mixture screws at the base and centered near the air horn? These are usually found on 1968 versions. I don't need the entire carb, just looking for the screw. Thanks.

I have about 20 4618S carbs. Only one with 3 idle mixture screws. Are the 3screw models “factory” or consumer made. I think if engineering changes happened, an “A” was added to model number—4618S to 4618SA. Maybe another member has more or correct info.

The 4618S was for '69 440 automatic applications. The one you have with the 3 screws was probably a very early '69 unit before the upper one was eliminated. The single upper mixture screw was definitely oem, as it appears in the fsm.

Date code on 4618S carb is "L8"--November 1968. I don't think it's an very early '69. Help !
