I'm currently restoring a GTX and one of the things is to replace all lamps in the instrument cluster.

I recently tried to remove the lamp socket from the clock but it will not budge. I'm worried that I'll crack or destroy it. Any ideas on how to coax it out?

Thanks.

I think the clock light is just a pop in socket. Should be the same for the tach like I have in my GTX. The ones on the printed circuit board are twist in 1/4 turn I think.

I've tried twisting and and pulling but it wouldn't move. I was worried to break it as I've seen how much the clocks go for online. I'll give it another shot later this week and hopefully have it swapped out.

I managed to get it out. It has a ring of metal tabs that press against the opening holding it in place. I took a very thin flat blade screwdriver and worked it out. No turning required. Thanks for the previous posts.
