Hey guys,
Quick question,
My 69 Charger is coming along. I’ve prepped and fitted the two quarters, the roof, the trunk floor, extensions, valances etc. I’m priming and applying lizard skin to the backsides now and getting ready for final assembly and all the welding.

My question is regarding a gap between the rear of the trunk extensions and the tail Panel inside the trunk. The car was in poor shape when I got It and the trunk floor and extensions had been cutout previously or were rusted away. Now everything is fitting nicely but there’s a gap on both sides of the trunk where the extension isn’t quite long enough to reach the tail panel.
Could I be missing a part?
Do I have more metal work on the extensions to “extend” them 1-1/2” or so to meet the tail panel?
Anyone have a photo handy of the rear corner of the inside of their Charger trunk? I’ll try to post a picture of what Im looking at tonight.
I just wanted to check before I welded everything up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks again.

That's normal. I'm not sure why it was left like that from the factory but they are all like that...I've read where the factory put huge blobs of seam sealer down in there on some cars. My '68 didn't have much sealer in that area so I'm sure it depended on who was applying the sealer
