I like it, even the motorcycle. Its ready for body work.
i didnt mean to put the motorcyle in but atleast its fast and i dont have to fix it. im trying to get my dang shop cleaned up to get the car in

You can get it where you want it. We all have a project going on. Im doing one thing at a time, cause I'll get overwhelmed. I need wheels and tires next. I still dont know what engine I have or how to tune and time it. I have a timing light but no vacuum gauge. Theres a different camshaft installed and I dont know what it is.
i hear you im 100% overwhelmed. if you look at your engine where the valley pan meets the block on the front right side if there is a large flat machined spot then it is a 440 but if it is the same all the way across then its a low block 383 400.

Welcome from central Missouri! I had a ‘70 Road Runner 383 / auto that was plum crazy purple a long time ago.

You can do it, one piece at a time. I cant really tell but I think, from what you say, this is a 383....??

It's not a 440. Probably 383

Im okay with that, I guess. But is this the right place to ask, how much timing do I set it at and vacuum? I think they replaced the cam and I dont know what it is. I need to tune the carburetor also which is not my specialty.

Get your self a Factory Service Manual. Downloads are free. This will give you the factory specs and basic how to info on timing and carb adjustments.

I would do a lot of research as I am no mechanical guru. I don't mind wrenching and I plan on assembling my engine when it's finished at the machine shop. As far as it being a 383 you could stroke it and get a 4??. If I'm not mistaken you can put a 440 crank in it. There are guys on here who are engine wizards. If I was you I'd start me a thread on what you can do with a 383. A lot of ppl will answer your questions but some will spend time to reply and tell you to use the search feature
