Sealed Power or CompCam

I need new lifter to my -68 383 but which should i buy? SealedPower or CompCams?
 
I haven't heard good about either.
 
Hylift Johnson are top notch quality but will cost you. I run them in my Charger with nothing bad to say.

I am running the hydraulic flat tappets matched to my cam at Engle cams. I had it custom ground and they sent me my lifters with it.

Those where cheaper than sealed and comp here in Sweden =S are u sure you didnt mean just jhonson lifters? thos are like 400$ meanwhile hylift J where about 120$ in sweden =S
 
Pretty sure they were Hylift Johnson lifters......wasn't aware there were two types. They were the ones that everyone said to stick with and were American made vs. the comp stuff and others. After doing some reading on the forums, I see Hylift Johnson lifters are the original lifter and the Johnson company is a spinoff when they went bankrupt or some crap. I haven't seen anything bad on Hylift Johnsons that I can find.

I wonder what type of cam the OP has. And then I wonder what the performance and RPM level of his engine is...
The right lifter for the build, and proper setup is the key to success...JMO

I got the compcam XE268H 224/230 its not a monster build, more stock. 906 heads. just want the quality stuff
 
Topline/Hylift Johnsons are good. Comp's lifters will also be fine. They are American made (most brand-name lifters are made by the same manufacturer--one of the Johnson's--I can't remember which). I've never personally used Sealed Power, but I'd almost bet they're made by the same people too. They were at one time owned by Johnson--I did use their stamped stock rocker arms a couple years ago, they were USA made and worked very well.

Whichever one you use make sure they rotate freely in their bores when the cam turns, check this during assembly. Follow their instructions for preload. You can disassemble each one and clean them out if you wish. Don't pre-pump them--most manufacturers tell you not to nowadays.

**Just be aware--no matter which brand you use, they're going to be kinda noisy. It's the cam, not the lifters (unless of course there's a really loud sound that stands out from the other noise).

I appreciate the help dude! When i have cleaned them out, should i take like a rag with a bit of oil just to make thing move smooth inside? That cant hurt right? I think it will be the Hylift, they are a bit cheaper, but cheap dosent mean less good right? =P

You definitely want them oily, but not filled up..after cleaning I just dunk the parts in some good clean oil, let the excess run out and reassemble.
