In another thread, One of our members suggested we start a thread about good race-trailer mods / additions. I thought it was a great Idea, so here we go.... what have you done or seen someone else do that made sense?

Hope you've got a drivers door, winch when she decides to die on you and good easy tie down solution.

Open trailer, so not really relevant, but.... a big winch, (had a little one that worked well, it just didnt have enough poop) and ty-down hooks at the farthest ends of the trailer, to avoid having to crawl under to ty down.

after the tie-downs/D-rings, the tools, floor jack/jack stands
generator, batt. charger, compressor, lights, elect. receptacles/cords
& a winch, bench/vice/cabinets, fuel storage/chemical storage too,
blue shop towel (paper) holder
if enough space

depends on the needs of the racer, IMO those are all min. needs

Not one, but a series. Make mounts and brackets to hold everything. Picked here. Tool box is bolted to counter, grill is bracketed to counter, both with nut zerts. Spare, fixture for holding the hood, spare, chairs, EZ up tie down straps, all have wall brackets. Battery charger and scoter both have floor brackets. Everything has a place.

Be careful how much weight you add on with the extra's, towing with a F150 you may find that with the trailer, car, and all the extra's it won't tow the best. Now if you have a 1 ton dually... load it up with everything including the kitchen sink.

Wouldn't own a enclosed trailer without a driverside escape door.
My fat *** has a hard time getting in and out WITH one !

Welded in 6 more tie down locations for more flexibility and added a spare tire carrier.

Electric tongue jack. I use it as an anti theft device also. I lower it as low as it can go when not on my truck so no one else can hook up to it and pull the fuse from inside the trailer, then that makes it unfunctional.

Ive done many additions to my trailer. A few recent ones that were long overdue.

Electric jack. Always on sale and quick install
Locking devise. I welded a receiver onto my hitch. Then made a 2X2 that slides in, locks and blocks the ball and hitch. I also added a tube that protects the locking pin. Thieves can’t slide a pipe over the locking pin to snap the lock off.

Step. I bought my trailer without a step well. I picked up an aluminum step that was on sale and shortened the legs. My dorf step. It hangs on the door. The step is always the first thing off and last thing on when loading / unloading.
After 100 times in and out of the trailer in a day it becomes appreciated.

Driver’s side access door.
Just finished adding this door a few weeks ago. Have yet to use it but I truly regret not having it added when ordering this trailer back in 2014. It was a fun project and addition.

The best racing mod that I ever did to a trailer was to put a race car on/in it!

Another I forgot. A ramp to roll the good tire up on when you get a blowout. No jack needed. Really nice if your compressor holds air. Then you can use the gun. Add outside air fittings and outside 120v plugs.

Not a big thing but I bought a remote for my wench. Love it!

One other thing I do is use the winch to keep side door closed from inside. I have a clevis bolted to the door. Use my remote winch control and bump the in button until I see tension on the door. Use the out button before opening. I also have slide locks on the rear door with padlocks from the inside. Even if someone cuts the locks on the outside they are not getting in. I also have a chain run thru both wheels and padlocked for another deterrent.

I also have enough vehicles that there is always a spare vehicle parked in front of the tongue of the trailer so no one can try to hook up to it.
