NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

I normally do business with Summit. I found some items at Jegs that I liked, so I figured I’d check them out, and threw an order their way. OMG! One order turned into 5 different shipments, three back orders. Nothing has arrived yet (ordered 3 days ago). Tracking says nothing will be here for a few more days. One of the items (a Jegs brand item - one wheel) is ETA’d over a month away.
My $1700 order qualified for a $30 discount, but the next day I received a $30 gift card. Confused, I called and found out that the “discount” was not applied as they described on the phone, but instead they sent the gift card for a future purchase. Joke was on them, because I promptly cancelled one of the back orders and reordered it with the card applied. Then I go look at my account on their website.... complete clusterF! I still can’t make sense of it, called them, they couldn’t explain why I was seeing (3) fuel cells listed on my account, but assure me there is only one on the way. Or why it shows (3) 15x10 wheels when I ordered (2), but again assure me there’s two on tha way, albeit in (2) separate shipments. WTF!?!?!?

in the end, I’m sure I’ll get everything and be happy with the items, but the process has been a huge disappointment. Compare this with my long history of experience with Summit: order today, brown truck arrives tomorrow. No problems, ever... easy-peasy! I don’t ever remember a back order of more than a couple of days max.

I know I probably sound a bit whiny, but I’ve learned a lesson and will never place another order with Jegs.

ok, rant over.... if you’ve made it this far, thanks for indulging me, and have a great day.

I've always had good luck with both. But I haven't ordered anything in the last 10 months.

I order from Summit regularly, always quick & correct.... On the few occasions when something was wrong it was corrected promptly & they sent a gift card as a "sorry"

Jegs, I've ordered from three times now & things have been wrong twice & back ordered twice....

I also tried Speedway.... Once.... Never again....

I have only ever ordered one item from Jegs in all my years of buying online. I picked up a Pitman Arm for my A100 about 11 years ago. Right part, fair price, and it works well. :)

I've been ordering from Summit since before I had a checking account, credit card, and before internet. Back then I filled out the order form with the part #, description, and price, and mailed it in with a money order. To this day have never had an issue with Summit. Here lately though, more items are backordered, but that's due to the pandemic.

I've ordered from Jegs a few times without an issue, but several years back they had their bare Victor heads cheaper than anyone else by far. So it was either clearance or a mistake. I submitted my order and was called the next day. They said the price was a mistake and I either needed to pay the new price or cancel my order. The new price was not the cheapest around anymore, so I cancelled my order. What rubbed me the wrong way, was no apology, no 5% or 10% discount offer, nothing. So I figure since I've had such good luck with Summit, why change.

Yeah, I'm a Summit guy. I've ordered from Jegs a few times, and something usually ends up back-ordered... even when the website says "In Stock". Not a big fan of Jegs.

I used Jegs all the time for a couple years. Had several delivery issues. Some really bad ones when sent things USPS, a couple not Jegs fault, bd F'up's by USPS. I got Jegs to change my account to not use USPS. Then Jegs re-did their website and I couldn't find stuff. Started using Summit. Very few issues with Summit. A couple times Summit said parts would be shipped from the manufacturer and gave me a projected date, turned out the manufacturer shipped well ahead of the projected date. I'm pretty happy with them.

I always try to buy locally. But mostly end up buying on line. And I always tell the local businesses that you can't sell what you don't have in stock. I'm impatient.

I was a Jegs shopper for a long time.I ordered some leaf spring clamps from Jegs.About $12.
They sent me $6000 of truck suspension lift kit and parts.
They were happy that I called them about the mistake.
Now that Jegs charge sales tax I went back to Summit (Nevada Warehouse) and get most parts the next day.

I prefer Summit. I’ve ordered an occasional part from Jegs, but don’t care for them. Their website is clunky and counterintuitive. The Summit site is much more user friendly.

I order from Summit 99% of the time and usually have stuff next day. They've always taken care of me. I did buy my Mahle pistons from Jegs because the set was $100 cheaper than Summit.

I’m a summit guy, mopar parts come from my local dealers usually unless they don’t have access to them... summit has always been good to me so while I’ve looked at Jegs I couldn’t take that chance. I’m not saying by no means they are bad I’m just saying I’ve never dealt with them.

I am not a Jeg's fan. I bought a Champion Radiator from Jeg's once. They sent me what looked like someone else's return. The cooling fins were smashed down in places; and someone tried to polish some of the top tank. There was black polishing compound built up in the welds. Half of the tank had a mirror like finish, the other half was dull and unpolished. I sent it back for a replacement. They made me pay for the replacement up front. Then they credited my card when they received the damaged item back. The replacement was damaged while being shipped to me, (not their fault in all fairness). I asked for a third one, but they were out of stock and back-ordered. Not only that, but they never fulfilled the back order. Two months later, I checked the website. The rad that I wanted was back in stock. I called them to order one a third time. The sales person said she was sorry for the hassle; and then went on to say that although they had two in stock, the two that they had were the two that I already returned and that I probably would not want them since they were damaged. So the (you fill in the expletives) took TWO used/damaged units and put them back on the shelf to ship to someone else.

Summit on the other hand has served me well with very excellent customer service, knowledgeable sales people, fast shipping, NEVER a back order, and easy returns for over 30 years.

I always ask them when placing an order if they have it in stock and ready to ship and if not I tell them flat out "thats ok I'll check with Summit"

I have been buying from Jegs and Summit for years, a month or so ago I placed an order with Jegs and wanted to cancel it, no where on their website to do so and was on the phone with them over an hour trying to cancel the order. Summit for me in the forseeable future.

Summit all the way. Jegs puny little catalog doesn't even have a MOPAR section anymore!

Thanks for the warning on those "savings". Anybody known if Summit does the same?
Last year Jegs had spend a $1,000 and $100 "discount". guess business is better this year.

Ok, I must be doing something wrong? When I search summit, I can't find what I need.. I try to narrow the results, and I still.can't find what I need. Or they don't list a catagory for it. But when I search summit and the part i need on Google it pops right up! WTF !?!

Summit is great, any problem that comes up is quickly and easily handled. No hassles ever.

I went to the Georgia Summit warehouse and was installing parts on my car in the parking lot at night. Then the security guy came over on the golf cart to check it out. I’m wondering how this will go. He says “No problem, let me know if you need anything”. Then came over later When the car was running to pick up anything I needed to throw away.

Always good experiences from Summit. No reason to change.

Last two orders from summit in the afternoon, and i get the covid shipping warning (excuse me...the china flu warning), and both times the order was at my door the morning of the next day.
I ordered a one -wire alternator from jegs as part of a larger order, over $100 for free shipping. The alternator came in with a loose pulley, stripped pulley nut, and buggered threads on the shaft. I needed the alternator for a race, so i ordered a replacement and an RA. I assumed the would just charge the same, and credit my card when they got the bad part back. SILLY ME! I got charged the regular price, not the clearance price i originally ordered, and a shipping charge. I called to chew them out, and they fixed it, but i shouldnt have had to bitch, they should have done it right in the first place. I wonder how many times they are gonna ship out that **** alternator, i certainly wasnt the first.
I will comparison shop the icon pistons i want, cause last time i looked, jegs was over $100 cheaper, but im definitely gonna give summit a chance to price-match!
