Does it include wiring and 20 amp power source for an electric choke?

How plug and play is it? Gonna buy the engine and forward light harness first, then go from there.

What... M & H makes exact replacements for OE harnesses. Did your OE have an electric choke?

I have an aftermarket Edelbrock carb but I haven't been able to get the electric choke to work with the original wiring.

Doesn't the choke just need a switched 12V source (meaning it has power when the ignition or some switch is on)? If so, that should not be hard to find and add. If you have a 12V source and the choke isn't working then perhaps the choke has an issue. It would also need a ground, perhaps that is an issue.

The choke must be sourced from the ign circuit. Depending on year you could get it from one or other place. Tipically the place to get it is at Blue side of the ballast, or regulator. On 70 and laters a wire from this network can be reached at alt field. 73 and lates in fact get this provision already available built into the engine harness just right around the carb ( over the intake manifold harness section )

I ran my wire from the back of the accessory fuse with a piggy back lug with a inline fuse.

I really like M&H and Evans harness’ cant go wrong in my book... imo, also pretty easy to grab 12volts of feed wire to the resistor if needed. You can even buy a new female connector , slide the wires together and put it in the plastic cover and tuck it back into the harness all pretty so it doesn’t get noticed.

I use the keyed 12V off the ballast resistor.

Just went to M&H's site and they don't sell direct. Only distributor
is Year One.

yes plug and play, their plugs can be tight I have bought M&H harnesses for my challenger and my Bee. The Bee I bought dash ,engine and rear tail light harness and am happy with them. One time they did have 2 wires reversed so check them when installing.

I have all new M&H wire harnesses from Year one for my 69 convertible. Nice harnesses. Should be getting them installed on a month or so. And Year One discounts these. I just bought mine over Halloween weekend with 30% discount. Wait for year one to offer a discount.

M&H are excellent. As others say, just 12v switched from ignition source is all that’s required (and a ground). I take mine from the ballast. Circled in blue shows the red wire for the choke. It wouldn’t have mattered which side I took it from as my ballast is bypassed for msd. I just chose that side because it balanced how many wires were coming from each side.

Everyone, including Classics, gets them VIA Year One as they're the licenced distributor. We can get them from National Mopar up here, but Nig is still getting them from Year One..

I’ll ask them this week but MrMoparts is getting them as a distributor.

What I do to run an electric choke is to pull the 12v from the ballast resistor as others have mentioned... I get the little factory connector used to power the 6 pack solenoid and use that so theres no cutting the new harness

Does the choke need to be fuse-powered or can I just run a wire?

you can use a fuse if you want, but factory didn't use it. Just straight from Ign1 circuit ( ballast, reg, alt field on dual field alts )
