Anyone have any tips on how to get the filler tube installed into the fuel tank. I've tried heating the grommet and cooling the tube. I have saturated everything with WD-40. It just won't go. Can one person do this? Any tips?

Thanks.

Rubber grommet goes in tank first

put the grommet on the tank 1st them use vaseline/grease on tube

Ever had to stuff the sausage into a smaller hole? LUBE is your friend. Just kidding Grommet first then lube the tube and poke it in.. Just like everyone else posted.

I actually wrestled with the grommet first method for about 2 hours. I sent the pic to my girlfriend who knows next to nothing about cars. She asked the $million question: "Are those aftermarket parts"? I answered yes, then went and measured everything. The YearOne tube was a little over 1mm OD larger than the original stock tube. The filler tube came only as a set that included the vapor tube, and I only needed the vapor tube. Long story short, I was able to get the original stock tube installed, lots of lube, grommet first.

Lessons learned - measure your aftermarket parts before you try to use them. YearOne filler tubes don't fit Spectra tanks.

Thanks everyone!

Lot's of Year One stuff doesn't fit PERIOD.
