Can you tell, manual or power brake car by the backing plate.

Thanks for the help, were the backing plates different for power and disk brake cars? 69 GTX. I am quite sure this is a factory disk brake car. But I thought a power brake car had a round hole in the firewall?

Yes Jay That is for manual brakes, they are different plates. Yes a round hole and higher up for power brakes.

Disc brakes cars will have another valve in the rear brake line about a foot back from the main valve.

Thanks, I have that valve in the rear brake lines.

So with this I have a manual disk brake car? So I am almost positive I have the correct master cylinder as I think they are the same for power or manual? So now I need all the correct hardware to mount it to the firewall and inside the car? Where is the best place to get that?

The are no factory manual disk brakes on 1966-1970 B-bodies. Somebody has been swapping parts.

there is no reason why you cannot run with manual disc brakes. I like how they work.

Your master cylinder needs to have the ring cut inside the piston for the pushrod retainer. Most disc brake master cylinders do not have that. Very dangerous to run without the pushrod being retained to the piston.

I bought this master cylinder with the intention of running with manual brakes, at least for a while and this is what inline tube sold me but I don't see the grove for a locking ring?
