was meant to dock on the 1st November, now its showing an ETA of the 14th but it feels like it's never going to arrive...

Hope booze is selling cheap while you wait! I shipped an aircraft rudder to NZ and the guy wouldn't pay for air. He just got it yesterday.. 4 months..

I think it doesn’t want to leave the mainland! It’s leaving it’s nest! Lol Be patient as long as the boat gets from a to b safely I would say sit back and enjoy a couple cocktails and know it’s worth the wait.

Yeh its cool, but im useless im forever checking that web page.....left long beach on 1st october....so its been on a boat for a long time........:(

I sold a '73 Challenger project car to a guy in Poland. It got stuck in customs for a couple of months. I was so glad when he emailed me a picture of it sitting in his driveway. I can only imagine how the wait can be nerve racking.

I'd say try and forget about it for a few days and find something else to occupy your mind. Good luck and keep us posted.

I shipped to NZ a couple weeks ago. ETA is 3 months !!

Ran into some Aussies at Carlisle last year and they were shipping boxes of parts back - by air. They said that while the boxes arrive fast enough they held in quarantine for "months" in case of insects.

yeh we are quite protective with this kind of thing, for our agricultural industry and to "keep aussie pure" haha....
only thing i'd say is it shouldnt be like this, we import in our business every day of the year from the USA and we can get a shipment leave on friday and have it arrive on tuesday, even during covid....so they must be doing something wrong to be quarantined for that long....unless its old parts (we only import brand new items)

Ever since this pandemic struck the globe, all shipping and air routes have reduced in quantity and increased in price & time taken. Packages to the USA from here on a 3-day service are now taking almost 3 weeks. I know this because I did it recently. Cost me money, but was happy to help out a fellow FBBO member. Happily the recipient was very understanding of the situation, and I kept him updated with the tracking info.

I used to send packages every week or so, now I am only going to do it if absolutely necessary. The time it takes is absolutely redonculous.

There are parts I would like to import now, but it is not worth the risk with potential for lost items increasing as the extra time can introduce more issues with freight companies.

After Drag week, we packed a buddies car up, via carrier to the Port of LA. From there it left on it's journey to Perth, AUS. Typically a three month expedition, it arrived six months later as it got held up in Queensland prior to it's final destination.
On a similar note, but really not related. I bought a book from Jim Schild a couple years ago. Sent him a card and some money......it took 6 weeks to go across the state. I could have easily delivered it by horseback in less than 2 weeks.

It sure is, the car I refer to is the Valiant Charger owned by John Faraone and that was after the 2018 Dragweek.
Enjoy the Runner! You'll love it!

Talk about anticipation, that would be brutal!
