HELP GUYS !! Broken cam shaft in the V-10... Or at least it's not turning when cranked. Any thoughts ?? Can replace the engine with a 2001 that's available... Just don't know how many parts will be needed from the 96 engine to bolt on to the 01 block to make it work... Anyone done this??? I haven't torn into the engine yet but saw a 2001 V-10 engine for sale... Just wondering how much stuff I have change or retro-fit to make a 01 work in a 96.... THANKS FOR ANY HELP !!

Maybe take a look first, see if the timing chain is broken or sprocket bolts failed.

Should all be the same. About the only thing that changed was a phoenolic plastic t-stat housing on the 94-96ish to an cast alum t-stat housing later. I love my 96' V10. 24 year's later and still 90% original.
