As if 2020 didn't suck bad enough already.
Coming home from my sons house tonight I saw a deer in my headlights. Hammered the brakes but I was crying before I hit it. If I can ever get the parts to put this car back together I will NEVER drive it after dark again.

Oh no!!!! I really worry this time of the year around here about hitting one. The corn fields are down and, its hunting season so the deer are on the move. I hope you can track down everything you need.

Never ride a motorcycle, or anything you prize during the rut!
Sorry to hear this, hope you get her all repaired soon.

I feel for you, truly sad to see. Parts for 64's don't grow on trees, but I have found that Classic car insurers are very flexible on parts prices. 5 or 6 years back we did a collision claim on 64 Ford Galaxy 500. We had to pay big bucks for a hood, grill and hood trim, but they didn't question the cost of the parts even with our markup and were very generous on the labor hours. They were a little shaky on the paint time until I told them it was either do it my way or we disassemble and paint the whole car.

Thing is you're ok  You'll get her back in shape before you know it.

(Tell the insurance company "The deer ran into me")

Thanks. I was wondering. Found a fender for $1300 on Ebay. I'm with Hagerty and I hope it was a good decision. I'm thinking the trim is going to be the hard search. If I wasnt already half full of fine single malt scotch, I'd puke.

Hitting a animal is a comprehensive claim and for most insurers that is 0 deductible unless you chose another option.

The State Highway Patrol said they cut their Deer collisions by 1/3 after installing those whistles on the fronts of the cruisers.

You should be able to find a whole car for 1300. I would not pay that for a fender. My son has Hagerty. He says there pretty good.

Planning to be at the Turkey Run in Daytona, I’ll keep my eyes out for 64 Dodge parts. If I see anything I'll grab a card for them.

Howdy from your inbred distant cousin up here in Hawkins.
I'm VERY glad everyone is OK! Yes, deer are so numerous in this part of the country they
are pretty much a nuisance animal, even with all the hunting that goes on.
We got caught after dark last Saturday evening in the GTX, running around on errands.
I drove at MAX ATTENTION the few miles back to the house - ol' Fred is still sporting some
original type headlights, which ain't much more than strong candles. :)
